What Will the Story Be?

Recently, I had the honor of co-writing the song, What Will the Story Be?, with Mark Simos for the Climate Reality Project. We had the opportunity to collaborate with some of the extremely talented students at Berklee College of Music. It was a fantastic time and very meaningful to be a part of a project that supports the initiative on the climate crisis.

I hope you'll enjoy the video and share with friends and family to bring awareness to the cause!

BOOOOGrass!

Nashville, Tenn. (October 23, 2012) - Today, exclusively on AOL's The Boot and just in time for Halloween, Country music star Pam Tillis debuted her latest music video, titled "The Monster & the Banjo."

Tillis directed and stars in the bluegrass-themed music video, shot earlier this month on a hazy, erie fall morning on location in the Tennessee wilderness, just outside of Nashville.

"I've known about this song for a long time," notes Tillis.  "I was going going through my music library one day and it hit me that it would be a fun music video to make for Halloween!"

For casting the video, Tillis rounded up some of her favorite child musicians to perform, and recruited friends and family for the additional roles, living and dead.

Tillis adds, "It's all my friends and family. My mother-in-law played Granny although she's way prettier than she comes off here.  I was surprised at how easy it was to get zombies!  Watch for cameos from my tour manager and publicist.  I'm proud of my zombies but especially proud of all the incredible young musicians who are all between 10-14 years old.  Hope you enjoy and Happy Halloween!"

New Album with Lorrie Morgan!

I've been working on a new album with Lorrie Morgan to be released this Fall! Together, we've been co-writing songs for the project and selecting material from some of Nashville's hit songwriters. The album is in support of our current tour, Grits & Glamour, where each night we share the stage with our fabulous band!

I am proud to say that Grits & Glamour is one of the most succesful tours of the 2011-12 season and has been selling out in advance at Performing Arts Centers and Casinos across North America. We're incredibly grateful to each and every fan that comes to the shows and are looking forward to sharing this music with you all!

Here's a sneak preview of us in the studio!

"Two Kings"

Recently, Pam sat down with Brenda O'Brien and wrote a song to help share the legacy of two great kings that walked through Memphis - Martin Luther King Jr. and Elvis Preseley. After writing the powerful song, Pam wanted to record the tune with a fellow musician to truly capture the heart of words. Young R&B up-and-comer Kris Thomas, a Memphis native, gladly stepped up to record the legendary song.

The video was filmed on the streets of Memphis and features the Stax Choir in the original Memphis church where MLK once stood. The creation of this song and video was a touching experience for all invloved, and we hope the legacy of these great kings will live on with help from this song!

First Time at Music City Roots!

I went to Music City Roots for the first time tonight! Sometimes when you travel all the time the last thing you want to do is go out, but Megan Lynch told me tonight was gonna be a special night and it was.

I am now a big IIIrd Tyme Out fan! Super great. And I was blown away by Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver.... I am now a total Doyle Lawson gherm!  I don't know my bluegrass like I should, and I hate to act like these guys are new when it's me that hasn't been in the know.  All of these folks have been doing their thing for a while and have so many fans the world over... Thoroughly enjoyed Sierra Hull and Josh Williams as well.

More people who love country music should cross over to the bluegrass side and hear some real country music. Stellar harmony, stellar playing. These guys have never seen an auto tuner.... God love 'em!  What a great night!

This is me and two of the handsomest guys in Bluegrass. Songwriters, Ronnie Bowman on the right and Jerry Salley on the left. Bowman is an award winning artist and writer and Salley has had songs cut by everybody but me and that's about to change. An amazing amount of talent in one room!
