Pam Tillis is among some of her Country Artist peers featured in a forthcoming album that pays tribute to the memories of those who died during the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. The album, Never Forget, includes several new songs made specifically for this project, which is tied to the recent christening of the U.S.S. New York, a ship with a hull made from more than seven tons of iron and metal salvaged from the World Trade Center. The album will also feature music by George Jones, Charlie Daniels, Tanya Tucker, Rebecca Lynn Howard, Aaron Tippin, and Tracy Lawrence. Never Forget will be released Aug. 26 with a portion of the proceeds earmarked for charity.
With the seventh anniversary of September 11th 2001 approaching, Country Music artists are doing their part to make sure people never forget.
“This ship stands for everything the music included on the album represents,” said Sherry Johnson, co-owner of Seasong Records, which is releasing the album.
The commemorative CD will be available on August 26th of this year in stores and on all digital download sites. Proceeds from the album’s sales will go to the Hope for the Warriors Foundation, a charity that helps servicemen and women who have returned from battle with great injuries.
